Parents Challenge believes parents are the most important advocates in their child’s education. Our financial aid program is more than financial support—it’s a partnership.
Families receiving financial assistance commit to actively participating in their child’s educational journey by attending scheduled Parents Challenge meetings, volunteering at least 10 hours each semester, and engaging in opportunities that strengthen their knowledge and confidence as parents.

To be eligible for financial aid from Parents Challenge, you must be a resident of El Paso, Teller or Pueblo County, Colorado and meet federal income guidelines based on your total family income and the number of people in your household. These levels are the same ones used to determine eligibility for Free and Reduced Price Lunches by schools and are summarized below:

Verifying Eligibility – When requested, please submit a copy of your federal income tax return and verify the number of people in your household and your income.
Financial Aid That Supports Educational Choice
Parents Challenge provides financial assistance to eligible families who are committed to choosing the educational option that best meets their child’s needs. Families who meet federal eligibility requirements may receive support for private school, traditional public school, public charter school, or homeschooling.
Private School Scholarships
Up to $2,500 per scholar, per year.
Scholarships provide partial assistance toward annual private school tuition and are paid directly to the school. Once your scholar is accepted, Parents Challenge works with the school to establish a payment plan.
Parents are responsible for any remaining tuition, fees, materials, and transportation costs. Scholarship checks are issued directly to the school, with parent verification of acceptance.
Public School & Homeschool Grants
Up to $1,200 per scholar, per year
Grants help families provide additional academic opportunities and resources beyond what is available through their child’s school or homeschool program. Approved expenses may include tutoring, online learning programs, computers and academic software, required uniforms, transportation, activity fees, and summer school.
Grants are provided directly to parents for approved expenses. Expenses must be authorized in advance, and receipts are required for reimbursement.
Our goal is to give parents more options and more resources to help their children thrive.
Limits
Because Parents Challenge seeks to help as many families as possible,
each family may receive scholarships or grants for only two students in any given year.
