My daughter, Jenna was a recipient of a scholarship from Parents Challenge. She had been in public school until 6th grade, and was having so much stress due to the environment, pressure, and questionable choices with the people she was with. She ended up missing 1/2 of the school year, and I knew I had to do something else.
I reached out to Parents Challenge and they took my hand, gave us so much help and support, and encouragement. I am so grateful! My daughter went from an emotionally troubled young lady to a confident, excellent student at a campus called the University School (USCO). Being in a private Christian educational program, she was able to be in a community that was on track with her values, and a more intimate learning environment. The transformation was incredible!
She thrived there because we had the CHOICE, and the means to have her there! She made wonderful friends with other students and also some very special teachers. To sum up her experience, she graduated as co-valedictorian of her graduating class, received a 2-year scholarship to PPSC and got her associates degree all while being on the President’s list for those 2 years. I attribute that to the excellent study skills she acquired while at USCO.
She is currently pursuing a nursing degree and is working full time at Penrose Hospital. She loves it, and we’re looking forward to her serving as an RN in the near future. God is so good, and in his infinite wisdom and grace, connected us with all of our “Angels” at Parents Challenge. I could not be more grateful. Thank you ALL again, especially Deborah, for all of your generosity, support and kindness and for taking a chance for our family. xoxo
It made a HUGE impact for the good for my daughter, and for me!
With a very grateful heart,
Linda Traynor
