Parents Challenge Update
Hello Parents, Families and Students:
We pray that all of you are safe and your families are doing okay at the present time. We realize this crisis is bigger than any of us and we want you to know that we are trying to mitigate this situation as best as we can and we hope you are doing the same.
The Governor has ordered that all public/private schools remain closed until at least April 17th. We know that many schools will not resume in-school classes for the remainder of the school year. All of us have become home school families during this time. We realize for many the difficulty this might pose for you and your scholars. Several schools have online learning platforms and they will continue to provide educational options for their scholars. Some schools are trying to ramp-up and provide these type of resources. We sent in a prior email, online services that may be available to support your scholars. I realize that some of our families do not have technology or wi-fi capabilities outside of utilizing the library and these facilities are currently closed.
If your family does not have technology or wifi capability and you currently do not have books, board games or learning resources to support your scholar at home, please reach out to your school public/private for those resources. Also, please send Parents Challenge an email and let us know your circumstance or situation. We want to support each of you as best as possible during this crisis. Let us know how we can support you in all areas that your family may need.
Lori Bitar – has a tutoring (free) program that might help during this time. I will be sending a follow-up email. She can assist families in utilizing this service. I have a district that will be sharing their resources with me and I will provide that information to you shortly.
Families this is the time that “You are your Child’s 1st Teacher” in all aspects of their lives. I know that this is a struggle for some – but at the present time we all need to step up and if you need help, please reach out so your scholar(s) are supported during this time. They are our most valuable asset – allow them to see us handle this crisis with strength, courage and optimism.
Let us know how we can support you.
P.S. All classes for April are being cancelled/postponed. We will keep you up to date on how Parents Challenge will be proceeding as we now prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. Many details have not been determined at this time. We will contact families via email, text messaging and phone as we make decisions for the organization.
Stay safe and healthy.
